Back in 1991 in Cleveland, Ohio the owner Sam Stergo began hauling scrap metal chips and other scrap metal items for a local manufacturing company. Over time the service expanded to include loading, rigging, and the dismantling of scrap machinery. with that acquired knowledge, He began providing this service to various companies and addressing larger projects all over the USA. This entailed the building of a network of trusted contactors.
Around the year 2000, He started collaborating with scrap metal exporters. This involved buying insulated copper wire, electric motors, and transformers from scrap yards, as well as from electrical and demolition contractors, that would then be loaded on to over-sea containers for export.
In March of 2004, He opened Girard Metal Recycling in Girard, Ohio and began purchasing ferrous, non-ferrous and high-temperature alloys from the public and companies to be processed and sorted for metal foundries use.
As of 2022, Girard Metal Recycling has relocated locally to a larger local facility, and Sam’s two sons Tom & Nicholas joined the team to better serve our customers.
